Electrical burns suffered

A 21-YEAR-OLD MAN, Ben Strome, who apparently was visiting friends in the Nethers Mill area, sustained serious electrical burns Monday from a high voltage electrical wire. As far as could be discerned by the Potomac Edison Power Company, Strome had climbed a pole in comes of collecting some copper wire when he came in contact with the energized equipment. He fell from the pole and sustained a head injury in addition to burns on his hands and legs.

Sperryville Rescue Squad responded to take the victim to Culpeper Memorial Hospital where he had emergency treatment and then took him to the University of Virginia Hospital. According to a hospital report, he is responding to medication.□
