Scouts attend Freezoree
SCOUT TROOP 50 OF AMISSVILLE participated in the annual district “Freezoree” which was held the last weekend in January at the Elizabeth Furnace picnic area.
The camporee featured a Klondike Derby in which '• troops challenged each other in skills such as first aid and compass reading and competed for best arrangement in their campsites. A campfire with skits and songs presented by groups highlighted Saturday evening. Prior to breaking camp Sunday morning an assembly was held for the presentation of ribbons and awards.
The Amissville Troop received a blue ribbon for one of the best campsites. Among those attending with Scoutmaster Clarence Dodson and his assistant James Russell Whitmer were Stan Settle, C. G. Lawrence, Ronnie Kelly, Phil Settle, Ronnie Poe, David Milbourne, Danny Story, Doug Harrison, Robert Hamilton and Robert Priest.D
