State Route 625 used to be a country lane, winding its way up from highway 622 towards the Mt. Marshall Fire Road. But Hurricane Agnes “gutted the road bed” which lay between a rock wall and a fast moving tributary to the Rush River. Though the stonewall wasn’t destroyed by the flood, the highway department decided to use it for base material when they “restored” the road. The picture at left shows the road as it appears now, beyond the “restored” section. -Above is a view of the Route 625 where it has been repaired to state standards.
