Let’s trust the lack of local representation does not reflect a lack of interest in what one conference speaker characterized as something which has been emphasized in every major study of the subject conducted in the United States in the last ten years. That emphasis is that it is in the best interests, economic and otherwise, of all citizens for growth rates to be controlled at a rate their communities can afford.
And “affordability,” as Loudoun’s astute Supervisor Frank Raflo has so aptly put it, concerns not only such things as tax rates and utilities, but the “intangibles” which make Loudoun and the surrounding area so desirable, such “a nice place.”□
