THE TRAIL RIDERS of Rappahannock sponsored a 35-mile competitive trail ride last weekend from Tommy Eastham’s Rucker Farm at Flint Hill. Cool, beautiful weather was a luxury after last year’s downpour and everyone had a good time.
Representing Rappahannock County was Joan Welch of Flint Hill riding her quarter-thoroughbred cross, Mr. Bo Jangles. Joan won third place in the Lightweight Division and sixth place in Senior Horsemanship. Other winners were, First Heavyweight, Jerry Wood of Lothian, Md.; First Lightweight, Lin Stocker of Alexandria; First Junior, Beth Gallagher of Sterling; First Senior Horsemanship, Joan Halle of Louisa; First Junior Horsemanship, Heather Horn of Springfield; Sweepstakes, Beth Gallagher on Lady Gay Bird, Quarter Horse.□
