John W. Putnam
John William Putnam, 78, of Flint Hill, died September 29, 1974 in Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal.
Funeral services were held Wednesday from the chapel of Maddox Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Wyman E. Hall and the Rev. M. P. Maples. Interment was in Leed’s Cemetery at Hume.
Mr. Putnam was born in Fauquier County, son of the late Joseph Winter and Mary Elizabeth Putnam.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Claudie Catherin Kines Putnam; two daughters, Mrs. Emory Russell of Flint Hill and Mrs. Frances Gilbert of Warrenton; and two grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Walden Putnam of Marshall; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Darr of Front Royal and Mrs. Minnie Putnam of Upper County, Md.
Pallbearers were Cecil Cornwell, Wallace Russell, Moffett Pullen, Frank Huff, John Blaisdell, Witold Kuncewicz, Willy Gentry and Herbert Foster.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Susan Green, widow of William Clifton Green of Amissville were held Sunday at the Geest Funeral Home Chapel with interment in the Amissville Methodist cemetery. Her pastor, the Rev. David Brown, assisted by the Rev. Harold Carter conducted the service. _
