NOTICE EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION
CONTROL
Whereas, the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Virginia, under Title 21, Chapter 1, Article 61, Sec: 21-89.1 et seq of the Code of Virginia authorized localities to adopt an erosion and sedimentation control program prior to July 1, 1975.
The County of Rappahannock adopted an Erosion and Sedimentation Control Ordinance effective on November 6, 1975. Except as provided for in Section 4 of this ordinance, no person may engage in any land disturbing activity, until such person has submitted to Rappahannock County, has had reviewed by and has had approved by the Rappahannock Approval Authority, an erosion and sediment control plan for such land disturbing activity. Exceptions to this requirement amont other things include areas less than 10,000 square feet, single family residences and normal operation of agricultural, horticultural or forest lands.
Effective on 1 August 1976, a fee will be charged for issuance of the required land disturbing permit in accordance with Section 10 of this ordinance. Such fee will be provided to cover costs of plan review and inspection associated with land disturbing activity.
