“WHEN a volunteer worker for the American Cancer Society gives people the opportunity to support cancer through a donation questions often arise,” said Mrs. Robert Rodgers, president of the Rappahannock Unit. “Most often asked is ‘what does my contribution do to help people here in Rappahannock County,’ continued Mrs. Rodgers, “therefore I offer the following information.”
“Efforts are made to provide information and community referral services to cancer patients and their families. The services are offered in cooperation with other community services. Rehabilitation and counseling services are provided for persons who have had major surgery for cancer. Counselling is provided by volunteers who are trained through the American Cancer Society and recommended by a physician.
“Transportation is furnished by unit volunteers when possible. WhM volunteer transportation is ast available some assistance is given with costs of public transportation. Sick room equipment,
