The Virginia State Fair is in progress in Richmond this week and will continue through October 3. The exposition contains agricultural and livestock exhibits as well as homemakers projects and business exhibits. Horse shows and dog shows have also taken place.

Friday was “Press Day” at the fair and some members of the Rappahannock News staff attended. They were treated to drinks and a buffet luncheon, free rides in the midway, a tour of the fairgrounds, and rides on the chairlift. A minstrel show Was also given for them.

David Thornhill of Boston, a student at YPI & SU was there Friday Wild for die weekend and was busy in the large tent where they were cooking and serving barbecued chicken. This project was in part sponsored by the Science Club at
