“Upon the authorization of a physician the Society will assist with the costs of prescription pain, relieving drugs. Each local unit has a list of the drugs for which the Society can pay. Limited assistance can be given with drug therapy for cancer patients upon request of a doctor.
“Assistance is given with room and board for patients receiving treatment on an out-patient basis at medical centers.”
LIMITED emergency assistance can also be provided for patients for other typeS of services upon recommendation of local committee chairmen, doctors, social workers, nurses and others concerned with patient care.
“The above services are the major types of assistance the Society makes available to cancer patients. It is an important secondary source of assistance.
