I wish to comment on the editorial which appeared in the September 23rd edition of your paper. The editorial, entitled “Ban the ‘junk,’ ” gave support to an earlier concern which had been expressed^ to the School Board regarding “junk food” in the schools. In the same breath, the author of this editorial stated, “We feel the same way about allowing smoking in the higher grades.” The writer then goes on to question why school officials would condone smoking at school when it has already been proven harmful to one’s health.
I do not know whom “We” are but what I would like for “We” to know is that Rappahannock County High School has a no smoking policy at all gcade levels, has had
