Mrs. Dorothy Davis, though she was not a candidate for election, was re-elected as Mayor of the Town of Washington. The vote was a write-in. since no candidate had filed for the position. Whether or not Mrs. Duvis will serve has not been determined, nor has the legality of the election been determined. Students of Sperryville Elementurv School cited for perfect attendance during the 19t>7-t»H school year were Melaine Thornhill, grade 1; Charles Williams Frye, grade 2; Richie Van Burke, (trade 3; Michael Abram Beahm, Lonnie Gene Clatterbuck, Russell Mitchell Dodson and Joyce Ann Releford. grade 4. An awards assembly was held at Rappahannock County High Schooi on Wednesday June 5 at which time presentations were made to students excelling in scholastic, sports and other school activities. Awards in business classes selected by scholastic ability went to Diane Pullen, shorthand; Barbara Lillard. typing and Nancy Thornhill. Ixiok-keeping. Mina Laura L. Parrish, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac L. Parrish. Thornton River Farms, Viewtown, graduates from the Baldwin School Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania at commencement exercises Saturday. June 8. She will enter Mount Vernon Junior College in the fall.
