ENDURING SYMBOL Each deceased veteran who served honorably in the United States Armed Forces can be given a flag of the United States, whtch drapes the casket or accompanies the urn of the fallen soldier. This provision honors the memory of a veteran's service to his or her country. Each flag is folded and tucked into a triangular shape that mimics a chocked hat. wh^th serves as a reminder of the soldiers who served under General George Washington, as well as the sailors and marines who served under Captain John Paul Jones They, followed by their comrades and shipmates in the Armed Forces of the United States, have fought to preserve our bard-won rights, privileges and freedoms' A copy of the veteran s discharge record is required for the funeral director to obtain the flag.
