Complaints about Verizon, Rappahannock's major land-line phone provider, appear to be on the rise this month, mostly over significant delays in restoring service.

Ironically, it appears that this principal complaint seems to have improved slightly over the past few months, and consumer complaints to the State Corporation Commission (SCC>, which oversees telephone carriers, have also declined significantly in 2009.

But the time within which Verizon says it will try to address repair requests, according to a company spokesperson, is still six days.
