You could smell the sausage and bacon frying at the Washington Volunteer Fire Department on Saturday morning at its fundraiser breakfast.
Danny and Hope Huff, Jonathan Bankston and Ashley Williams were sweating up a storm in the back kitchen getting everything in order for the first person to walk through the door.
Keith Rowand, Wendy Ward and Ann Spieker were busy serving breakfast, while Sylvie Rowand, with a smile on her face, was busy greeting and collecting the money.
According to Chief Spieker, the department profited $700.
Another fundraiser is planned for an oyster and ham dinner on Saturday, Oct. 24, according to Spieker.
She said she “would like to thank the community for the support for the fundraiser breakfast."
