As soon as definite assurance of tho necessary funds is placed in the hands of the director, steps will be taken to form a county chapter of the state guild and arrangements made for the accommodation of the concerts, hoepi-4 tality to the visiting musicians, living quarters for the director! and his wife and for the music students, as well as other details.
With the enthusiastic interest expressed by numerous citizens and the endorsement of organizations and business men, there should be no difficulty in securing the necessary funds and perfecting a strong organization to guide and support the interesting project.
Those who are interested in the development that may mean much to Rappahannock county are^ invited to express themselves in*the .newspaper and to bear in mind (that a very important meeting to bring the matter to a satisfactory conclusion will be held Monday evening, January 15. The place of meeting will be announced next week. Mr. Haaker is planning to be present at this meeting.
While in the county a few days sgo, Mr. Haaker made clear the objective of the new plan by this statement: “The object is to establish and operate a non-profit summer music center and summer headquarters of the State Orchestra of Virginia, in which qualified musicians will teach music to students over a period of three to six weeks each summer, and at least three high-grade concerts will be given for the public.”
It is stated that Rappahannock is indeed fortunate. This is seen as an opportunity for the county, to obtain benefits and opportune ties offered to few places in the entire nation. >
