folk. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond L. Rector and James Nelson Rector of Richmond were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Coffey at Sperryyille. On Monday Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Muterspaugh and their daughter, Ravonda, of Alexandria were guests in the Coffey home. Miss Margaret Jenkins and Cpl. Douglas Spicer of Washington, D. C., spent the Christmas holidays with Miss Jenkins’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Jenkins. Miss Jenkins and Cpl. Spicer were overnight guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Deal.
Fredericksburg visitors and dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Carder on Thursday were Misses Lillie and Nellie Johnson, Bessie Carder, and Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Johnson.
John Thompson and James Beach of Falls Church were weekend guests of the former’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John H. Swindler. Paul Thompson of Washington, D. C., grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Swindler, left Tuesday to join the Navy.
Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Payne and children of Front Royal visited friends at Smed$ey during th«f holidays.
Ret. Carson Estes returned to Camp Pickett Monday after spending several days with friends and relatives in the county.
Mr. and Mrs. Carson Anderson and son, Edward, spent the week end with Mrs. Anderson’s mother, Mrs. Jack Sisk, at her home in Baltimore. Mrs. Sisk also had as her guests Henry Hudson and Billy Nicholson.
