Mr. and Mr*. E. G. Hackley entertained at-dinner Sunday at their home at Amissville. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Hackley and son, Freddie and Tommie, of Luray; Mrs. Alsop of Farmville; Leon Hackley of Washington, D. _C.; and Miss Lee Dowdell, who later returned to Richmond after spending the holidays at Amissville.

A housewarming was given Mr. and Mn* Richard Latham on New Year’s night by Mrs. Mae Libisck and Mrs. C. A. Clevenger. Mr. and Mrs. Latham received many useful gifts. Part of the evening’s entertainment was a program of singing. Those present included Mrs. Mae Libisck, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Clevenger, Mrs. Will Latham, Miss Frances Buchanan, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Foster, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer G. Jenkins and daughter, Peggy, Mrs. A. C. Latham and daughter, Ann, Mrs. Leedy Pullen, Mrs. Graham Hackley, Mrs. Ethey Cooksey, Mrs. Alvin James, Miss Judy James, and Braxton James.
YATESES ARE HOSTS AT WATCH PARTY
On Sunday night Mr. and (Mrs. Lester L. Yates were hosts to a company of friends for a watch party at their home near Sperryville. Those present were Elder and Mrs. J. Harvey Dailey, EM. and Mrs. G. B. Fletcher and three children of Strashurg, Mr. and Mrs. Cornwell and daughter, Miss Betty Lou -Cornwell of Brightwood, Mrs. Henry Sisk and Mrs. Milton Sisk. Refreshments were served and during the evening the group sang many fine selections.
