Notice of Proposed Increase in Local Tax Levies
Pursuant to section 15-662 of the Code of 1950, notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County, Virginia, will meet on the 9th day of APRIL, 1951 at 10:09 o’clock a.m. at the Court House at Washington, 'Virginia, at which time and place citizens of this County will be heard by the said board for or against the following proposed increases in local -tax levies fox the tax year beginning January 1, 1951:

In connection with the proposed High School Building Fund, the Board of Supervisors passed the following resolution:
“Resolved that a tentative levy of 15c per $100.00 of assessed taxable property shall be included in the tentative county budget for the fiscal year 1951-52, to run for not longer than 30 years, the money raised from said levy to be used for the purpose of retiring a proposed loan from the State Literary Fund of not more than $125,000.00 to be used with the “Battle Fund” of $100,000.00 to build and equip a High School for the County of Rappahannock, Virginia.”
The purpose of the increase in the levies for County Schools and the General Fund is to offset the following:
1. Decrease in revenue from A.B.C. Funds.
2. Deficit in General Fund.
3. Decrease in tax base caused by General Reassessment of
Real estate in Rappahannock County.
