8:58 a m.—Allen Johnson rushes in, the day has begun for the Rappahannock National Bank.
•9:00 a.m.—-Finds Mr. Watts returning from breakfast for the early morning risers who want a shave or hair cut.

9:05 a.m.—Paul Walker trying to find Lewis Fletcher.
9:10 a.m.—Mrs. Grace Reid on her way to post office to mail letters to Bobbie, C.G., Joe and Gladys. W. C. Campbell drives to his farm.
9:30 a.m.—About time for Mr. Luther to bring the mail. Mr. Willie Compton will soon pass the paper office on his way for the mail. Mr. Clyde Baggarly and Mrs. Frank Moffett talking in-the post office lobby. Arthur Miller worrying Josie Smoot. Cheese back at the Cash Store.
9:45 a.m.—Court house offices open in full swing, everybody is busy—Jack Miller in Lea’s Store for a Coca-Cola. Mr. Critzer on his way to his office in the court house.
10:00 a.m.—Paul Walker still looking for Lewis Fletcher. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Miller waiting for the last of the mail from Mr. Yates. Cheese back at Lea’s Store.
A. J. Slaughter on his way to the Courthouse with the mail for all the county offices.
Joe Keyser and Mrs. Will Keyser picking up the mail on their way home.
Noon— Mrs. Paul Thompson, Mrs. Joe H. Aylor, Mrs. Frances Thornton, Lucy and Bruce Bowie and Jimmie Settle rush out to Hampton Inn for lunch and a gab fest. Emily Miller looking for Arthur, so she can go top. George Wood coming home to lunch.

1:00 p.m. Mrs. Bob Massie and Mrs. DeBergh on their way to lunch, and Cheese on his way back to Lea’s Store.
2:30 p.m. — Mrs. Lillard and Mrs. Pullen leaving the lunch room at school.
Until 6:00 p.m.—Just passing the time of day with anyone who happens to pass. Mrs. W. H. Massie, Jr., and Mrs. DeBergh discussing their grandchildren in the post office. Mrs. Massie back to v her job of painting the trellis in year yard. Mrs. D. D. Miller walking in from “Maple Springs” to a meeting. Cheese back at the Cash Store; Paul still looking for Lewis. \
5 to 10 p.m.—Offices are closed, everyone is hurrying home to cook dinner. Maybe the bridge club is meeting or there is a church meeting, children are studying, but around 10 lights go but, a few . - burn still. In the wee small hours oj the morning you can see a light la the T. 'C. Lea’s hou»p, **nd a,~ light coming from “The Maples’^ or maybe Mrs. It. V. Snead is painting her kitchen, but the town is at rest until the dawn of a new day.
