Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hackley and Wayne Kimbler of Mt. Jackson, spent the week end with Mrs. E. A. Tapp and daughter.

A Stanley party was held at the home of Mrs. J. P. Cook Friday night, benefit The Womans Society of Christian Service. The party was given by Mrs. Watt Tobin.

Mrs. Alice Trawick of St. Louis, Mo., arrived on Saturday at the Lee Highway Hotel for an indefinite stay.

Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Smith and family of North Garden were guests Sunday of Mrs. C. D. Wood and Mr. and Mrs. Brue Wood at “Sunny Slope”.

Mrs. W. B. Dennis, Misses Joye and Gloria Dennis, of Castleton, and Lolita of Charlottesville, Mrs. Robert Anderson of Arlington and Mr. and Mrs. G. J. Beddingfield and children of Castleton were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Scott of Rixeyville.

Richard Smoot of Harris Hollow was carried to Front Royal hospital Sunday, following an illness of several weeks. Recent reports state that he is improving.

Graham Hackley spent last Wednesday in Washington, D.C.

Miss Eleanor Pendleton will arrive- at the Rectory, the home of her parents Dr. and Mrs. W. G. Pendleton, this week to be there until her wedding on June 12.

Mrs. Della Partlow who spent the winter months in Zanesville, Ohio, has returned to her home in Washington.

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Maney and family of Washington, D.C., were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Buckley at “Brookview”. Saturday for luncheon Mr. and Mrs. Buckley had as their guests Mr. and Mrs. George Wood.

Mrs. W. A. Laing is much Improved and is able to be out again.

Wallace Russell left Monday for Indianapolis, Indiana to attend the Memorial Day classic—-500-mile™ automobile race.
