Mrs. Lee Swindler was hostess, to the Woman's Society of Chris* tian Service of tike Methodist church at her home Wednesday; evening of last week at 8 o’clock* , Mrs. Nina Brown, president, conducted the devotional after which Mrs. Charles F. Estes took charge of the program, discussing the lesson from the subject “Pearl of the Orient Seas — the Philippines.” Mrs. Estes gave a most interesting ; picture of the historical background of these islands and showed what part woman’s division had! played in the Christian Service through their hospitals and nursing schools ae well as working in the rural areas and among the students in tiie cities. At the eloseof tiie meeting, Mrs. Swindler served refreshments.
