The present building was.built in 1891, at the cost of $1,700 and the pews and the hardwood floors were given by Ham Fletcher of Ben Venue. Also there were many contributions of “labor” which lead the church to pay off the indebtedness that same year.
The Shiloh Baptist Association has been entertained by the Amissville Baptist church three times. The first year, August 29,1899 when the moderator was Thomas F. Grimsley. The second time was August 27-28, 1918 and again during August 31September 1, 1938. On Sunday, July 31, 1938 the church celebrated the fiftieth anniversary with a homecoming, and many of the non-resident members as well as many friends of the church were present.
The baptistry and two Sunday school rooms were added in the year 1915 for the sum of $465. In 1918 the ladies were given the privilege of voting in church conferences. The young people of the church purchased a Delco lighting plant, costing $400, and was installed in 1926.
Outstanding in the Amissville Baptist history are the six men to have entered the gospel ministry: Warren Luttrell, 1894; S. H. Templeman, 1899; Lester A. Brown, 1899; M. L. Collins, 1914; B. L. Mozingo, 1924; R. R. Clement, 1929.
The congregation has been served by the following pastors: M. R. Grimsley, 1888-99; L. R. Thornhill, 1899-1905; M. F. San* ford, 1905-1909; Charles Clement, 1909-1934; J. A. StClair, 1935-1942; A. C. Walker, Jr., 1942-1945; Louis R. Broughman, 1945-1948; M. E. Sliger, 1949-.

The present membership of the church is one hundred sixtyfive and the Unified Budget for 1951 calls for $3,600 for all causes. - Jackson K. Yowell is Sunday school superintendent; William^ Bywaters, treasurer; and Mrs. Mary Latham, church clerk.
