We come at last to the laborer* —those fellows on the road, leaning on their picks and shovels, just after you met the sign on thei highway, Mjen at Work. Today, two men in a bulldozer can dig the foundations of an entire housing enterprise. Labor-saving devices have become so multifarious, ao huge and go entirely marvelous that it is a wonder anybody has to work any more.
But the tragic fact is that every^ body, from laborer to millionaire, is working harder today, with more anxiety, more stress, more control to submit to, and less right to do what he pleases, (than in the entire human story. .
I don’t say it is right, or wrong, good or bad. '
All I say is, it looks as if RilSy’s dead. He must have passed away quietly, at a time when iwe were all too busy to notice it.
Hardly- anybody was at' his funeral. '
