ft specified number of men, selects fthd orders to report for induction the number of men required to fill the call from among its registrants who have been classified in Clasai I-A and Class I-A-0 and have been found acceptable for service in the armed forces and <to whom the local board has mailed a certificate of acceptability at least 21 days before the date fixed for induction. Such registrants are selected and ordered to report for induction in the following order: (1) .Volunteers in the sequence in which they have volunteered for induction. (2) Non-volunteers in the ordea of their dates birth with the oldest ‘being selected first, except that a delinquent shall, regardless of his age, be selected and or* dered to report for induction before any other non-volunteer* When two Or more such registrants have the same date of birth) they shall, as among themselves, he selected in alphabetical order. Local boards, in selecting regis-' trants, work from a large ledger ■boOk similar to large inventory sheets, wherein is contained the registrant’s selective service number, name, date of birth, and certain other information pertinent to the local board. These sheets contain the names of registrants broken down to year of birth in order to eliminate errors in the ordering of registrants for induction.
