Gatewood Held for
November Grand Jury
At th« preliminary hearing of ©tha Gatewood, Negro, on Thursday, August 9, in the Trial Justic Court of Rappahannock county, ' Gatewood, who is charged with the, murder of Brownie Clanagan, was held for action of the grand jury at the November term of court. The accused, represented by Attorney Alfred M. Hickman, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Having served you as Sheriff of this county since May 18, 1950, I hereby announce myself as a candidate for election, subject to the November election.
On June 6, 1951, I'filed a. declaration of candidacy with the Rappahannock County Democratic Committee- and a few days later I was declared the Democratic Nominee for Sheriff of Rappahannock Coilnty.
Should you see fit to elect me on November 6th, I will endeavor, to render to you the same service 1 have given you for the last 14 months.
