The annual field day at Piedmont Agricultural Research Station at Orange will be held at 1:30, August 24. The general public is invited and urged to attend.

0. T. Rice, a dairy farmer at ■ Oakton in Fairfax county, will be the main speaker. A tour, of the experiment Station will follow his address. Mr. Rice will speak on "Grassland Farming.” He is one of the pioneers of grassland farm, ing in northern Virginia. He u t successful farmer himself and has no row crops on his farm. From his experience, he is well qualified to talk on grassland farming._

Important experiments to see on the station are: fertilizer in the rotation, orchard grass, alfalfa and'red clover varieties, fertilize ing corn and alfalfa, corn hybrid vasieties, soil types in that area and chemical !wee”d control.

All farmers, seed and fertilizer Waalers, agricultural worker*, and others are invited to the meeting. , Rappahannock citizens planning to attend are asked to contact the Gounty Agent (Washington-2231) and advise whether they want a dire or the number of person they can provide transportation for.
