The beginning of the Free Pentecostal Church in Flint Hill was in 1941, the Spirit of God spoke to my wife and me to come to Rappahannock County to hold a reyival, we started in the school house at the resettlement. At this time we were living in Wilmington, Deleware, and drove 208 miles each week to hold services. God honored this work by pouring out the spirit upon the people, many precious souls were bom with God’s Kingdom, according to John 3:5. ;• jr . <v
Many'received the baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire from *~ Heaven. Many have gone home to be with Jesus. Some have gone.out to preach God’s word. These people were saved^t our-—— meetings. The school house became too small. The Lord spoke __ to us to build a church. The ground was given to us by Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Grimsley. We had eleven days in which to build t the church from the day we started, to the day services were to * be held in the new church. Our first service was held on Mother’s Day 1943. The Sunday before we held our first meeting several men and I were putting the roof on the church when a terrible storm came up, the men said to me “UMcle Bob you won't have a meeting here tomorrow”, “In the name of the Lord” I said. “you stand and see the glory of God”. The rain came within 300"" yards of the church and stood as a wall, coming no closer, until *. the church was finished. After finishing, the men went inside the church and it rained for a good-half hour. We held services on our appointed day, for which we praise God, for many souls have been saved in the church we built with Gods help, and souls filled with the Holy Ghost.

The Church in three years was clear of debt.
We started our tent meeting in 1947. About 143 people have been baptised in four years.- Whole families have been saved and filled with the Holy Ghost—Glory to God.
God saved all that came to him, moonshiners, bootleggers, gamblers, and all manner of men and women.
We are now holding out tent meeting, God blesses all, and all are welcome. - . - -
Come to the tent meeting on Route 211 between Washington and Sperryville, every night at 8 p.m. except Mondays. Cur ' church is nonsectarian. All churches are invited to copae and help at these meetings.
