The Rappahannock County Chapter of the American Red Cross met in the Court House, at Washington, Virginia, on October S8, 1M1, at 2:*0 p m.
The meeting urea called to order by the Acting Chairman, Mrs. D. D. Miller, who informed us that the purpose of the meeting was to secure a Red Cross Mobile Blood Unit for Rappahannock County to obtain blood for our service boys as well as civilian use.
Mrs. Miller then requested James W. Fletcher, of SperryviUe, Virginia, to introduce the guest speaker. Mr. Fletcher accordingly made a short introductory speech, introducing Senator Raymond R. Guest of Bnyard, Virginia, our guest speaker on this occasion. . Senator Guest gave an excellent speech, in which he set forth the various uses and necessity for blood end plasma in the armed forces as well as for civilian usage. He set forth that from our stockpile, a reserve saved from World War II and built up since, we had shipped to Korea Mood dere vatives equivalent to 4M.000
