Red Cross Swim Program

It is not too late to join the water fun already experienced by more than 100 of* the county young people during the first few days of Rappahannock’s swimming meet. Mr. Camp, Eastern Area Red Cross Swimming & Winter Safety instructor, has provided unusual fun and relief from summer heat to many young people, and relief to the parents from fear of their child's future drowning in the numerous swimming holes they can’t stay out of..
For proof of his ability to teach— and have fun, one child was heard— to say, 'I wish we had this much ‘kick’ in all our ■ school classes,” while a parent1 jokingly remonstrated, “It’s the first time he didn’t want to go home after school’s out!” A very observant young lady, donning her two-piece bathing , suit, apparently -the firstby necessity, was overheard to say, “I could do,'this all summer-— Mother, isn’t he good-looking?” Mamma made no reply but a quick glance proved her daughter's good taste.
■Classes have been divided into three groups according to age: 1. beginners, 2. intermediates, and 3. swimmers. Since quite an interest has been shown by parents, an ' adult class is being organized. The locations of the classes will be at the Davises’" Lake, Washington, and Mrs. 'Slaughter's pool, Huntly. “Those taking the instruction may choose the facilities most convenient,'’ according to Mra.
