School Bn Rons for ClaoM

The county School Board has made available two school buses for transportation provided the local Bed Cross Chapter pays the expenses of operation and liability insurance. The bus route will begin Thursday the -17 and continue - through the 25th of July; it is expected that over 250 will enter the courses. --Where crowds gather, Dr. Johnson and Ralph Straun of the Rappahannock Health Department effeetiently perform their public function by being on hand to determine the health factors involved. Both were present Monday at the Washington facilities when the county swim classes were organized. Ralph Straun iwas favorably impressed with the large supply of fresh water entering the lalce at all times and the large amount being carried off through the overflow pipe. This factor gives the lake, which is more than 2 acres in water surface (about one-thipd of which is approximately 18 feet deep,) a quick turn over of new water. Mr. Davis stated that the major engineering problem was one of too much flow of wat^r into the lake which has been overcome by two 20 foot spillways, one on each side of the dam in addition to the overflow pipe.
