The Boy Scouts of Sperryville, ten strong, are looking for jobs. In this day and time, when so many youngsters seem to have the idea that “gimme’' is the order, these boys want odd-jobs and errands. They need a troop banner and a flag, and. these cost money, so the boys are trying to work for enough money to - purchase this necessary CQuipment. , (S. O. S. to folks in the Sperryville ' neighborhood: If you have errands and odd-jobs, please call the Scouts. They announce that they are exceptionally good at weed-pulling and grass-cutting, for they’ve had plenty of experience!)
Along with their plea for paying j obs, theJScouts -are-quick- to- tell that— they don’t want to be paid for little jobs which would be classified as5 their daily “good turn,” for that falls in line, of being of service to their community and to their fellowman. However, if you would pay for the job, let the Scouts do it. | Within the next two weeks the Sperryville Scouts are giving dinner. The food is being donated, but the Scouts are doing all the work themselves, from the cooking clear .' through, the “kitchen police’’ detail at the end of the meal. Everyone is invited to attend and announcements of the date will be made as soon -as plans are completed. ■ , Rev. A. Paul Thompson is scout master at Sperryville, and lately Carson Johnson and Ralph Straun have been helping the troop with their w°rk on merit’ badges.
