'The Time Hoe Come *

the Walras mU! . . .

A very unhappy gentleman awoke Tuesday morning to find that some prankster had put an enormous “vote

very unhappy gentleman happened to be as rank a Byrd-man as you could locate with a diygent search, and the idea of teasing, as expressed by another, did not fall wthin the radius of his sense of humor.

I would tell who the unhappy gentleman was, but I ‘might get a traffic ticket some time, and I wouldn't like to go up before the Tiral Justice with two strikes against me.

I don’t know who put the sign Up, but I've a couple of guesses I could make.

This little incident occurred at the county seat and it proves one thing: Rappahannock has calmed down. There was a day, some years back, when such an act would have struck up a near-war! Of course, I wouldn’t like to' say that the Byrd-supporter has really recovered from his temper, but, at least, he doesn’t contemplate • murder when he does find out who hung the “Miller” sign on his door.
