following is a copy of an ordinance adopted by the Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County on April 7, 1948 and duly published, and at a meeting of said Board of Supervisors held on July 9, • 1952, the Clerk of said Board‘«iwas directed to have the said ordinance published in the Rappahannock News on July 10th" and 17th 1952.
“Upon motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the following ordinance was unanimously adopted:
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors, pursuant to Section 262a of the Virginia Tax Code, is authorized and empowered to re• quire every person, firm or cor, poration, before commencing the construction, repair or improvement of any building or structure located within the County, to ob. tain from the Commissioner of Revenue of such County a permit in writing.
BE IT RESOLVED. THEREFORE, that pursuant to Section 262a of said Tax Code, every per* son, firm or corporation .shall be required to obtain from the Commissioner of the Revenue *of this County a written permit before commencing the construction, -re- . pair or improvement of any building or structure located within this County. Any person, firm or corporation violating this ordinance shall be fined jiot exceeding TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS' v ($25.00). It is further ordered that no fee shall be charged by said Commissioner for the issuance of said permits, however no permit shall be required for construction of any building, the total cost of which is less than $500.00.
