Recent new members in Rappahannock Artificial Breeding Association are W. H. Wood, Jr., of Amissville and Mrs. Claire Pauze, Woodville. To date there are 91 paid memberships subscribing 590 cows. In addition there are four farmers subscribing 18 cows who have made applications l>ut have not paid their dues. To date two members have been lost, W. H. Smith who sold his dairy stock and Mrs. Nena B. Cannon. There were 8 cows bred recently belonging to the following members: . •, Miss Eda Finks, Windsor Lodge Farm, James L. Bray„F. E. Mitchell and H. S. Barksdale.
Rappahannock Citizens pledging heifers recently to Patrick Henry Boys Plantation Inc., were: S. E. Henning, C. E. Johnson, Jr., J. M. O’Bannon, J. Rodes Brown, W. H. Massie, III, M. R. Bradford, Rappahannock River Farm, James W. Fletcher, and Mrs. W. R. Williamson. Others indicating they would give heifers this fall at weaning time were Mrs. W. P. Slaughter, John S. Browning and A. C. Latham, Sr.
Mr. Bellwood plans to make two collections, the first within the next two weeks at Gene Wood’s holding pens and the second around Feeder Calf Sale time. Since time prevented Mr. Bellwood from seeing everyone he would have liked to. Other breeders desiring to donate a heifer towards establishing a cow herd at this plantation designed to help wayward boys, may do so by notifying the county agent’s office or by writing Mr. Ralph Bellwood, Exec.
