Mrs. Gladys Scott ot lakoma Park, Maryland and Mrs. Resetta Campbell of Denver, Colorado, spent a few days last week with their brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Zirui.
Harry Spilman of Richmond was a Saturday afternoon guest of Misses Lena Settle and Miss Louise Martin. Mr._Spilman also called on_his cousin, Mrs. Ethel Cooksey and Mrs. Annie Latham.
Mr. and Mrs. Burren Ritnour and children of Philadelphia spent last Thursday night with Mr. and Mrs. Graham Hackley.
REVIVAL SERVICES
Revival services will begin at Slate Mills Baptsit church on Sunday, August 9, and continue through the 14th. The Reverend Melvin Hughes, pastor of Indian River Baptist church of Norfolk, will be the guest minister. The Reverend Hughes was educated at the University of Tennessee and the University of Richmond. He received his divinity degree from the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Mr. Hughes, who is 29 years old, served 31/2 years in the U. S. Navy in World War II.
Services which will begin at 7:45 will include special music by the church* choir under the direction of Carter White. The public is cordially invited to worship in these services.
