Lucy Mildred Lillard
Twelve-year-old Lucy Mildred Lillard died Saturday night, September 12 in the George Washington University Hospital, Washington, D. C. Funeral services were conducted in the Flint Hill Methodist church, Tuesday evening at 2 o’clock by the Rev. J. David Menchhofer, assisted by the Rev. G. M. Profitt. Lucy was buried in the nearby cemetery with her seventh grade classmates as honorary pallbearers.
Active pallbearers were Jack Hamilton, Charles Corder, Walter Lillard, Tom Lillard, Haywood Pullen and Moffett Pullen.
Lucy, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Carson Lillard of Flint Hill, was born in Rappahannock on February 27, 1941. The third of seven children, she is survived by three sisters, Dolly, Jane and Judith and three brothers, James, Thomas and Daniel.
ENTER ARMED FORCES
Linwood Franklin Pullen, Flint Hill and James T. Lewis, Sperryville, left Tuesday, September 15, for Alexandria, where they will enter the Armed Forces.
