BRIDGE PARTY

Mrs. J. W. Price of The Maples entertained the Washington Bridge Gub Thursday evening. Among the guests were Mrs. R. L. Massie, Mrs. J. E. Keyser, Mrs. Elizabeth H. DeBergh, Mrs. Wade H. Massie Jr., Mrs. T. C. Lea, Miss Mary Massie Lea, Mrs. L. J. Turner, Mrs. George H. Davis, Mrs. Charles Bruce, Mrs. D. D. Miller, Mrs. B. M. Miller and Mrs. W. F. Moffett. A salad course was served by the hostess and prizes were awarded to the winners. Mrs. Bruce won high score while Mrs. Davis captured traveling and Miss Lea was given consolation prize.

IFS.CS. MEETING

I he Woman’s Society of Christian Service of the Methodist church at Sperryville, met on Wednesday night at the home of Mrs. C. Ennis Brown. “This is My Father’s World” was the opening hymn with Mrs. Catherine Brown at the piano. Mrs. Brown led the devotional and offered prayer, after which a most interesting lesson was presented by several members of the group from the subject, "A Sewer Went Forth” and ‘‘Abundent Life for Rural People.” There were nine members and one visitor present.
