CLARENCE 0. ODEN
After a lingering illness, Clarence Oneal Oden died October 31 in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Jenkins. Graveside services were conducted in the family cemetery in Washington, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock by the Reverend Arthur L. Ribble.
Mr. Oden, affectionately known only as “.Cheese” to his many Triends in Rappahannock, was born in Washington in August of 1895. He served in World War I, and until the time of his death was a member of the V. F. W.
Mr. Oden is survived by his mother, Mrs. Sallie Cary Oden, a native of Rappahannock.
Active pallbearers were C. E. Giles, Charlie Jenkins, T. C. Lea, M. C. Gore, W. C. Campbell, D. D. Miller, Clarence Racer and C. J. Miller Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were E. B. Cary, Ashby Wayland, C. T. Bruce, Taylor Updike, Irving Sisk, J. W. Critzer and Downing Wood.
