Each county’s allocation will be distributed from Richmond in the form of a freight allowance of a flat $8.00 per ton each ton of hay delivered to eligible farmers. This amoun^ represents one half of the weight average freight rate on hay shipped into Virginia. e
A farmer, whose application has been approved, will take his certificate to the hay dealer of which choice. The dealer will deduct the amount -of the ^freight allowance from the price charged the farmer.
Eligibility requirements for hay will be the same as those for grain except:
L A farmer must have less than a 60 day supply of hay on hand to be eligible.
2. No farmer may get more than a 60 day supply of hay at any one time. • .....———Like the Grain Drought Relief program one of the objectives of the hay program is to help farmers preserve a.basic livestock economy.
