It makes your blood boil to see a potential good clean holiday full of fun turned into a disgraceful show of » beastly behavior. Would that we had a stronger printable vocabulary in which to ventilate our disgust with the Halloween “Tricks’r that were indulged in Friday and Saturday nights. “Trick or treat,” a “boo” or two, even a little soap smeared cm the windows isn’t bad . . . they’re kid tricks and they’re humored and enjoyed by the older generation. Our fury is aimed at those characters who plaster a house with rotten apples, break handrolled glass windows, pile up dirty crates and tin cans in front of a lady’s place of business, and string toilet tissue over the church door. Some of these are jail offenses, None of them are funny. Once more they're cowardly. They were evidently performed by persons, under coyer of darkness and masks, who would hide their faces, once a light beam struck a match to their doings. If ever one of you chance to read this writing, may you feel red with shame and regret. We feel sorry for the innocent home owners, but we feel more sorry for-you.
Drought Aid Allocated
Park C. Brinkley, Commissioner of Agriculture, announced by letter dated November 2nd that Rappahannock had been allocated $3,955 in the Federal drought aid program for hay. This allocation being determined according to^the county’s livestock population. All allocations to be used for freight allowances for hay purchased by farmers.
