The county would close the Forest Grove School, those children going to . an Amissville School to the 3rd grade. The county would use the Washington School as an elementary center, with the upper elementary grades from the other schools.

This plan, put into effect, woud also help the very serious teacher shortage. New teachers are no longer interested in the one or two-room school house. The present crop of loca teachers will probably expend itself in ten years. To get competent accredited teachers for our children, we will have to provide adequate school. The graduates from teaching colleges are being lured to more attractive schools. -Ironically, the population _spends three times as much money on liquor ”asGt"d(‘)es‘"oir'g'choo'ls:

The film shown-, - “A rlington’s Fightfor Better Schools,” was an excep.-. tionally fine film pointing out the serious conditions of the Arlington Schools, and the way the people of Arlington took it upon themselves to remedy this situation. If Arlington can do it so can Rappahannock.
