40,000 home demonstration club members in Virginia will join in observance of National Home Demonstration Week, May 2-8. •

Many special programs, etc., are planned throughout the state; among them will be twelve distrct meetings of the Virginia Federation of Home Demonstration Clubs.

Sperryville H. D. club met with Mrs. Dorothy Aleshire, Wednesday evening. During business the members seeded- “Pen Women” to write to and plans were made for District Meeting. Broiled Chicken with Herbs and Barbecued Meat Loaf were demonstrated. —Mrs. Barbara Gentry was hostess for Huntly H. D. They welcomed Mrs. John K. Scott as a new member. Mrs. Carl Carpenter plans to' represent her club aj District meeting. During the demonstration “Broiled Chicken with Herbs and Barbecued Meat Loaf were prepared.

Program planned for this day as follows: Devotion, Mrs. H. R. Thompson, Fauquier; Welcome, Mrs. Roscoe Lancaster, Fairfax; Speakers, Mrs. F. F. Carr, State Federation -Pres.; Mrs. Theodore Adams, Richmond— theme of her talk “Today’s Home Builds Tomorrow’s World.” Entertainment is planned by Madison Co. H. D. Women; Band - Concert by students of Culpeper High School; Selections of Culpeper High School Glee Club.
