Mr. Traber, an Employee bf NBC (National Broadcasting Company) was returning with hi$ wife from a visit to relatives ir^ Cincinnati when the accident occurred. An eye witness reported that the car was traveling approximately *46-45 miles per. hour through the pouring down rain, and on approaching a curve, applied the brakes, and was immediately thrown into a- skid. : Mrs. Traber was hurled through the right door of the car into the concrete guard railing. She died “ shortly thereafter of multiple chest and head injuries. Mr. Traber stayed with the car as it carrened over the road, and landed in the, creek bed. The state police report that the right rear tire was smooth which possibly added to the danger, the slick road offered.
HUNTLY HOME BURNS MONDAY NIGHT
A sixteen-room residence , on the estate owned by Mrs. Alexander Gordon, tyas completely destroyed by a lire of undetermrn- " ed origin late Monday evening, " June 14. The Washington Fire Company and Rescue Squad rushed to the scene of die fire but when they arrived the fire had gained great advantage and was far on die way to consuming the house. The Front Royal Fire Company had already arrived, but were unable to begin the fight due to- lack of water. Shordy thereafter a tank of water from the Front Royal Street Department arrived but was too late to be of avaiLThe manager of the estate and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Jackson, were in Richmond for the day.
