Washington streets had a facelifting—resurfacing—last week,or some of them did. Gay Street, and Mount Salem Avenue are resplendent with their new to-coat, from curb to curb, as well as some of the other less-important streets. But pity the ones that were neglected, such as Blue Ridge Avenue, with its mud-holes—when we are fortunate enough to have a shower—where the citizens of the * town have to walk and be splashed with water from passing cars. Maybe someday the powers that be will get around to jputting in sidewalks along this, as well as some of the other sidewalk-less “ streets of our fair town, or have them paved from curb to curb.
