have to Spend it in your town unless they want to. It’s a bother, but shoppers today will drive more miles to find a good parking space * and a good selection of merchandise, or a shopping center where they can ~buy air the thing5~they— want at one time.
They would prefer to live and shop and send their sons to school and give their spare time, and pray at home, just Jike their friends and relatives who Went on to the cities and , built new communities all around the outskirts, with their own schools and churches and playgrounds, and their own shopping centers, sometimes within a mile of each other.
They are good people, these newcomers. They like their own towns, even it they haven’t been there so long. But they want what they want, and they are young enough and brash enough to get it, - or go where they can get it.
Xhey are like a new family for the old home town folks, and like parents, old timers may often wonder where they get their energy or their ideas or how the old house will ever hold together with their games and their antics.
As there is for any family, there will be spats and sleepless nights, and youth’s demands for schools and churches and shopping centers will put a strain on the budget* but when all is said and done, the home town wil be a better place for having them.
