In the second game of a doubleheader which netted the Volunteer Fire Department around $116, the “ *35-54 All Stars” completely Stole the show from the Hume All Star-Rappahannock All Star game. The latter dragged through 9 innings with a final score,'4 12-1, chalked up in favor of Hume. After five innings, the second game was called because of* darkness.
Ned Settle pitching for the 1935 All Stars held the youngsters to a minimum of hits. Herbert Foster and Mahlon Ramey were among the ‘35’ers that connected for long safe hits.
