SLATE MILLS W. M. S. _The Women’s Missionary Society of Slate Mills Baptist church met Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Harold Dickensheets, with twenty members and guests present. Miss Lizzie Miller was in charge of the devotional period. The program was a brief but comprehensive presentation of the 109 years of work on foreign mission fields accomplished through the. Southern Baptist Convention.
At the business meeting the following officers were elected: President, Mrs. Audie L. Weaver; Vice President, Mrs. Cleveland M. Ramey; Secretary, Mrs. J.T. Weakley; Treasurer, Mrs. George W. Thornhill; Young People’s Director, Mrs. Robert J. Boyd. The retiring President, Mrs. L. R. Hudson, was presented with a gift in appreciation of her years of service.
Following refreshments, filmstrips and slides were shown to the group by Mr. Dickensheets, using the new projector and screen which were recently presented to the church.
