C.H.S. BAND WINS SECOND PLACE IN . APPLE HARVEST PARADE
The George Washington Carver Regional High School Band won second prize in the Grahd Feature Parade in Charlottesville, October 1. More than 15,000 area residents turned out to observe the Grand Feature Parade, as some eighty units traversed Main St., in step with music of fourteen bands.
Mr. Sampson, Band Director, stated that, “he is very proud of the showing that the band made, due to the fact that for some it was their first appearance in public with the unit.” Mr. Sampson also stated that “this year’s band is the most outstanding band he has directed.’” _
