Following his graduation from Ohio State University, College of Agriculture in 1934, he spent nine years as County . Agricultural Agent serving in the Counties of Pike and Clermond, Ohio. While attending Ohio State University, Mr. Battles was elected to the Honorary Agricultural Fraternity, Gamma Sigma Delta, in 1934 and has been awarded the Honorary State Farmer F.F.A. Degree in Ohio. His activity in 4-H Club work dates back to 1921.
